Parade 5k Run/Walk
We are excited to bring this Island tradition back to kick off the longest parade in the country.
The only endurance event on the island where the streets are completely closed, the course is mostly flat, fast and will feature food, drink and music at the end for 2022!

We are just over 2 weeks away from the event date. Below is an overview of our race schedule, and packet pick up locations. please review below and reached out to the event organized if you have questions.
- Thursday 6/30 thru Saturday 7/2: Laurens Closet. 1420 Park St, Alameda. Hours 11am - 5pm
- Sunday: Alameda Island Brewing Co. 1716 Park St, Alameda. Hours 3:30pm - 6:30pm
- Monday: Race morning registration opens at 7:30am 1420 Park St, Alameda (Race Start)
The run will start at 9:00am this year to provide ample space between our runners and the Parade that follows.
If you are traveling via Bart or public transportation please review the schedules below to get you to the race start, and picked up from the race finish.

General Overview:
After 2 years away, the Alameda Parade and the 5k are back in 2022. The 5K run (3.1 mile) and walk takes you through beautiful Alameda starting at 9:00AM, just before the historic 4th of July Parade. This run benefits the Midway Shelter of Alameda. We are working closely with the City so that we can bring a safe and fun experience for both runners and spectators
Details
The race starts at 1420 Park Street in front of Lauren’s Closet and follows the Alameda parade route ending at Haight and Webster. The scenic course is completely closed to traffic as you run past spectators waiting for the parade to start. Your run will finish just past the parade judging booth. This year we are going to have access to Haight st (current location of the Tues/Sat farmers market). Stick around and enjoy post race water, Gatorade hydration plenty of snacks and beer donated from our local breweries! Register before June 15th to receive a T-shirt, and for 2022 ALL runners will receive a custom finisher medal.
Registration before June 30th can pick up your packets at Lauren's closet 1420 Park St (see event schedule for details). IF you register AFTER Wednesday June 30th, you will need to pick your packet on Race morning. Thanks for the understanding.
This run/walk benefits the Midway Shelter of Alameda.
First founded in 1989 by the Alameda Homeless Network and the City of Alameda, Midway provides 25 beds and a range of services for homeless women and children. Building Futures was chosen to operate the shelter in 2001. The name “Midway” represents the shift in the lives of women and children served, where the cycle of homelessness and domestic violence falls away and a new future can be built.
